How many times have you heard an appeal for financial help for victims of disasters, often children yet decided not to respond?
Maybe kids with no parents, street children, victims of abuse, kids at risk, innocent little refugees, war and earthquake orphans, kids without dignity obliged to beg or steal or forage for food… all in obvious need.
But has there ever been any sort of guarantee that the money you give ever gets to the children for whom it is intended?

THE SITUATION FOR COUNTLESS CHILDREN IS DIRE.
With an ever-growing number in need and even the largest charities only able to scratch the surface of the problem, the prospect could not be bleaker.
It seems shameful that mankind is able to solve all the problems involved in getting to the moon yet remains unable to offer any substantial and sustainable solution to the comparatively elementary problem of the care of its young.
The flood can not be stemmed by a head-on approach. The sheer size of the problem worldwide has swallowed up every welfare project yet launched.
Neither apparently, can it be prevented by an assault from the rear. The causes of social problems feeding the flow, if not endemic to human nature are apparently endemic to the capitalist system.
The proposal is a 'flanking manoeuvre'. Far from fighting it swims with the tide channelling and using its fury for its energy, its corruption and misery, its raison d'être and the life blood for its very survival.
But the proposal isn't about metaphors, mixed or otherwise but people! If it and they are to stand a chance it will not be as a result of
LATERAL THINKING
but
POSITIVE ACTION.
